 Tk 800.017 problems

I just installed the new Tk 800.017 on a Sun Solaris
box and Linux. In both installations, Tk is extremely
slow compared the the previous version I was using which
was 800.015. Also, the buttons don't seem to invoke the
callback when activated.

Am I missing a patch or something?

I'm running perl 5.00503
The Sun box is running Solaris 5.4
The linux box is a PC with Redhat 6.0 (kernel 2.2.5-15)

Thanks,

Tom

That was my first experience too. Then I realised that I comnpiled the
800.015 version with -O2, but the newer one without optimisation :-)
Now I don't see any performance hits.

I'm not so lucky! I started with a fresh build and install of perl
5.00503 and Tk 800.017 making sure optimization was enabled. Still
have the same problem - slower than slow and the buttons don't
callback.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Tom

Is there a way that one can tell if your Tk has been
compilied with/without optimisation?

Thanks,

Robert

perl -V

returns a line with "optimize=..."

Tk is usually compiled with the same optimization level.
