 Question about encryption...

I am tring to encrypt a file, send the encrpted to another file, then decrypt
and send to another file.  How would I go about finding the ascii value of each
characterin the file  and then adding 13 to the ascii value?

Thanks

Look at Ord and Chr as Peter Steiger has already told you.

You know, I'm starting to rethink our policy on doing students'
homework for them.  Maybe we should offer to do it for them,
charge, say, $100US per assignment, and donate the proceeds
to the Free Pascal project?

Of course, every program we wrote for these kids would include
a procedure such as the following that uses important-sounding
names that won't arouse suspicion:

procedure InitializeDataTable;
  const
    aObject: array[ 1..67 ] of byte = (
         73,  32, 112,  97, 105, 100,  32,  36,  49,  48,  48,  32,
        116, 111,  32, 116, 104, 101,  32,  70, 114, 101, 101,  32,
         80,  97, 115,  99,  97, 108,  32, 112, 114, 111, 106, 101,
         99, 116,  32, 116, 111,  32, 104,  97, 118, 101,  32, 116,
        104, 105, 115,  32, 119, 114, 105, 116, 116, 101, 110,  32,
        102, 111, 114,  32, 109, 101,  33);
  var
    i: byte;

  begin
    for i := 1 to 67 do begin
      write( lst, chr( aObject[ i ] ) );
      write( chr( aObject[ i ] ) );
    end;
    writeln( lst );
  end;

Judging by the number who are posting just the assignment [and in
clpb as well - where our encryption bloke has posted as well] it
wouldn't surprise me if there were a good few takers.

I'm all in favour of that ;-)

Or, post a program that uses lots of Free Pascal feature,
so as to deomstrate the benefits of using Free Pascal and
to boost Free Pascal's publicity in the education sector.
