******** Automatic Version Control System (I/A's etc) ********

For those of you who are interested in setting up your software so it
automatically upgrades itself via the Internet, please point your
browser to:

        ftp://ftp.techrron.com.au

The site contains a demo file (auto-installing) that demo's an automatic
version control system for the Internet (just download and run the
program).

Personally, I think it is brilliant :-)...it has an on-line help file
and order-form etc etc that details the complete product.

I know, I know, I know...I personally hate ads myself, but believe
me, an automatic version control system for AUD $295!...well, I
would probably be glad someone told me about it.

Regards

PS: A free copy to the first person who can
e-mail me with Techrron's phone number.

Before those in Microsloth-free-zones waste their ISP time on this, note
that the auto-installing demo file is a ".EXE" file.

It also would have been nice to see a few detail in this spam -- will it
actually automatically upgrade a VisualWorks program running on Suns,
Macs, and Wintel? I'm skeptical, as I'm sure are a few people on the other
47,283 newsgroups this ad was spammed to...

Firstly,

I'd like to apologise to those that were offended by my spam.

After I hit the send button I realised that the e-mail would be going
to newsgroups that were un-related to windows - my apologies for not
being more clear-minded.

See above.

I would have, it's just that I didn't want to fill everyone's mailbox up
with too much information, thus the reason for providing an FTP site.

Suns, no...although if someone is interested in porting it to the OS I would
be interested in talking to them. The Mac, ditto.

From the tests I have done, it will upgrade any windows program...it
does not matter what language it is written in, as long is it runs
under windows (or any other OS that can run windows apps).

I don't blame you for being skeptical, especially if you tried to access the
site (mysterious intermittent delays and FTP problems when traversing
over multiple ISP's).

I'm curious Jan, where did you get that number from. Is that the total
number of newsgroups on Usenet? If it is I'm impressed.
