Compiler tools (yacc-like) for ST?

 Compiler tools (yacc-like) for ST?

Hi,

Does anyone know a usefull yacc-like "compiler compiler"
for Smalltalk? Preferably ST/V.

I have several programs written in other languages and I'd like to be
able to compile them to Smalltalk code. (Yes, I know that it is
not nice to use Smalltalk to run procedural things, but I'd like
to have those codes as Smalltalk and I do not feel like compiling
tens of thousands lines of code by rewriting all those lines...)
In addition to that, I really do not like the idea of using C(++)
instead of ST.

It may turn out that I'll have to write the compiler
myself, but I'd be very happy if there were something like yacc for
Smalltalk around.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, my Smalltalk is ST/V-PM 2.0 (the OS/2 2.x version),
if that is significant.

Best regards,

Check out the directory /pub/STV/st_v/v_win/T-gen2.0V
in the Smalltalk Archives (anonymous ftp to st.cs.uiuc.edu).

Justin is much too modest to say that he is the author, and that it's
pretty good stuff!

I got the tgen-stuff from manchester. It looks like being what I wanted.

And it really looks good.

Thanks for the info and thanks for sharing the code!

Actually, I did the original Smalltalk-80 version
and Hal Hildebrand did the (non-trivial) port to
Smalltalk/V.  Thanks again Hal.
