 The CosmoCows want YOU!
Hi all,

As a reply to Wouter's mail to this group (see below), we recieved
several mails from interested people with questions about what
Cosmocows exactly does. Our website isn't up to date anymore so I'll
use this public way to inform interested people a bit more about what
Cosmocows is doing and I'll also explain in a little more detail why
and what for people we're looking for.

We're a small team of software builders (4). We started off as a media
company which mainly used Squeak to develop a customer product which
we call 'the InternetInvolver'. Several reasons made us decide to
postpone this development. Now, we're 'developing ourselves' in a
environment where we cooperate much more with other professional
companies and where we found our challenges in business-oriented (co)
development of process integration software.

Momentarily we're doing several development projects. Our main project
is in the domain of transportation-planning and controlling the
financial impact of this planning for several transportation
companies. Within this project we work/develop together with people of
several other software companies.

In relation to this project, smaller projects spinned-off in the
domain of system integration.

At the same time we recieve concrete demand of other (international,
fortune high) companies in the domains of media production- and
finance integration to offer our services and in-house developed
technologies. Unfortunately we simply can't fullfill this demand due
to a lack of experienced people who know that the team process is more
important then individual 'hacking', and are not afraid to include and
learn other technologies. Other technologies like for example
database- and OS administration, for which we offer our employees
out-door courses.
For us, environments like VisualWorks / Squeak are absoluty superior
in the field of what they are build for, however, we experienced that
if we want to embed and develop ourselves within challenging, broad,
diverse-specialised environments, we have to be diverse ourselves.

Other issues:

We think it is important that team members work as a close team, so we
don't support tele working from a distance.

Plus, we would like to grow as - and invest in - a team so we're
looking for long-term contracts. Preferable full-time.

If any questions left, I'll answer as soon as possible.
