-------  (2) Internet Browser plug-in for dynamic applets

The last COTUG email announced the CINCOM purchase of VisualWorks.
          (see: http://www.*-*-*.com/ ~objwind/VWAnnounce.htm )

Since then we've been scrabbling to get more news and information
about this big event for the COTUG group.  Well, here's what we came
  up with...

               COTUG meeting Wednesday October 13.

Eliot will be talking to our group about some of the features
of the new VisualWorks 5i (details below).

  DETAILS:
  --------

Eliot Miranda is senior architect at VisualWorks
He is an active contributor at comp.lang.Smalltalk
and frequent speaker at various conferences.

5i plug-in enables to execute VW Smalltalk in a web browser.
It is efficient and secure. Standard CORBA-compliant Distributed
Smalltalk
or more efficient StST is used for client-server communications.
Full Smalltalk capabilities are now available in Wed browsers!

Opentalk is the new powerful agent-based communications architecture
framework that provides foundation for a number of new features of 5i.
It facilitates remote debugging, deployment, management and
diagnostics
and is a critical infrastructure element for development and
deployment
  of e-commerce applications.

There is much more to Opentalk,
lets hear Elliot talk openly about it. :-)
