student version of pascal?
Is there any way to obtain a FREE, LEGAL version of Pascal? If so, where can I find it.

I don't know of any that are actually compilers but there is an interpiter out there that allows you to do your homework on your pc or mac. Cuts down on time spent in the lab. It's located at bc.aw.com, the directory structure has change since the book I originally found out about it in was published so you'll have to hunt around a little but it is there. To revise. There's several compilers I've found which are shareware/freeware demos. Unfortunately, none of them have either 1) worked or 2) seemed to fully support rudimentary TP commands. Glenn Grotzinger

'Fraid so. I'm afraid I don't know where it is, but FPKPascal is free, comes with source, and is 32bit to boot. It's still beta-ey, and missing some parts, but it does compile itself which is always a good sign :) .splitbung -- * TQ 1.0 * The 'Just So Quotes'. "Only a mediocre man is always at his best." -- W. It didn't work on my system (486SX), although i did install the co-proc. emulation, but did on my brother's 486DX. It also doesn't have a editor (just a commandline compiler). But it *is* free :-) Greetings, Rudy. ... video ergo sum

I had that problem. You see, to compile the compiler with math emulation, I needed a working compiler... Perhaps the next release could be compiled _with_ emulation, so people with a copro could compile it out? Maybe also using a runtime emu would work too, (it works for Quake). I didn't try that. That IS a good sign, yes.. => Now my question about FPK or Borland is this: I am currently writing some Asm heavy projects in Pascal... What must I do to these to make them work in Protected mode? I am still learing the basics beyond an int 10 call...!!! \|/ Peace can not exist without war, nor can war \\\\/|\//// exist without peace.
