Oberon 960, an Oberon-2 compiler generating 80960 code
======================================================

Oberon-2 is a general-purpose language in the tradition of Oberon and
Modula-2.

The Intel 80960 series of embedded processors provides a RISC
instruction set and a large address space.

I have written a cross-compiler which allows programming the 80960 in
Oberon-2.

FEATURES:

- Support of 80960-specific operations via SYSTEM module.

- Creates 80960 assembly text to be assembled and linked with standard
  utilities (asm960, lnk960).

- Linkage of Oberon-2 and C code possible:  C functions can be called
in Oberon-2 modules; Oberon-2 procedures can be called in C.

- Development environment Pow! (Programmer's Open Workbench) for
  Windows.  Integration of Intel 80960 tools (asm960, ic960, lnk960)
  supported.

RESTRICTIONS:

- No floating point support.

- Restricted module initialisation.

- No garbage collection; explicit deallocation of memory necessary.

Please reply by e-mail if you are interested in Oberon 960!
