MacOberon System 3

 MacOberon System 3

In collaboration with the rest of the Oberon community here at ETH, Thomas
Kistler is currently putting together a new release of MacOberon. A
beta-version of this release is now available on our server:

As you will notice, MacOberon has now switched to the System 3 camp. We
will continue to maintain the V4 release, but it is now evident that that
strain of Oberon will not evolve much further. System 3, on the other
hand, looks more promising than ever, now that Internet access is fully
integrated into it. For those of you who haven't seen the new System 3
yet, WWW links can now be opened like regular files, using a mouse
interclick combination. Oberon thereby gains all of the functionality of
your favorite WWW browser. So, just as you point to a Command and press MM
to execute, you can now point to a link and press MM'ML to access it,
wherever it may be on the net.
