1995 ACM SIGMOD Conference - Call for Demos

CALL FOR DEMONSTRATIONS OF SOFTWARE PROTOTYPES

                             ACM SIGMOD 95
                              San Jose, CA
                            May 23-25, 1995
            ==============================================

We are soliciting proposals for live demonstrations of software prototypes
from universities and research laboratories related to database management
systems research and practice to be included in the Exhibits Program of
the 1995 ACM SIGMOD Conference. Demonstrations may emphasize novel software
for, applications of, interfaces to, features of, or teaching of database
management systems.

Demonstrations will be selected on the basis of technical merit, relevance
to database management systems, and novel/interesting features. The presence
of one or more of the system's designers or implementors at the demonstration
is expected.  Product marketing or selling is inappropriate in this forum.

Demonstrations from prior conferences may be resubmitted with justification,
but new demonstrations are preferred. Demonstrations should be approximately
15 minutes in length (as they will be repeated several times throughout the
conference).

Proposals should not exceed 3000 words. The address, telephone number, FAX
number, and electronic address of the contact author should be included on
the title page of the submission. The demonstration proposal must include
a description emphasizing the novel aspects of the system, and a description
of the demonstration itself.  System descriptions for accepted demonstrations
will appear in the proceedings.  The exhibits program hopes to provide 3-4 Sun
workstations; however, we strongly encourage proposers to provide their own
equipment.  To minimize the burden of traveling with equipment and maximize
the chances of the demos working without problems, we suggest that proposers
bring their own CPUs and disks; the exhibits program will try to provide the
required monitors.  Proposers needing monitors must contact the exhibits
program to insure the compatibility of the available monitors for their system.

All demonstration proposals should be submitted to the Program Chair:
