Call for Participation
VL'99 is the premier international conference on visual and multimedia
computer languages. The conference is designed to encourage
discussion among people working in the many different aspects of this
area. Visual language developers and researchers, HCI specialists,
visualization researchers, theoreticians, end-user programming
language designers, and multimedia researchers are all invited to join
us in exchanging ideas and knowledge from many different points of
view.
This year, to facilitate an efficient and fruitful exchange centered
around the core issues in Visual Languages, dedicated tracks have been
organized which range from theory to applications, from special
purpose languages to usability issues. See the web page for details.
The following events are planned:
Tutorials on visual languages for human communication and on UML.
Technical paper presentations, panels, and invited speakers.
A VL video program.
A Japanese banquet.
A welcome reception.
Note: early registration at a lower rate is available until August 10.
This is an ideal time for travelers to visit Japan. Airfare to Japan
is at all-time low. Standard hotels near the conference center are
priced well under US $100 per night, and meals at all price ranges are
available. See the web page for details.
