 Standard for Cross-Compilers?

Does anybody know a URL for the cross-compiler standards proposal?

The URL

  ftp://ftp.forth.com/pub/ANSForth/XCpaper.pdf

doesn't work.  In fact the only thing under

  ftp://ftp.forth.com/pub/

that look promising is

  ftp://ftp.forth.com/pub/ANS%20Forth/

and that's empty.

I already have a copy of the file(s), I just need a URL I can quote.

Thanks,
David

Very sorry, these documents got inadvertantly lost when we moved the
ftp site last Spring.  They have now been replaced.

Go to ftp://ftp.forth.com/pub/ANSForth/
The documents are:  XCtext5.doc and XCtext5.pdf  (normative text of the
draft)
                               XCapp5.doc and XCapp5.pdf  (explanatory
appendices)

This is draft 5, and may be more recent than what you have.

Cheers,
Elizabeth

Thanks, those are the versions I have, and that's the directory
that appears in various links on the net.  But I see no ANSForth
directory at

  ftp://ftp.forth.com/pub/

Instead, I see an "ANS Forth" directory which is empty:

Sorry, you're right, it is ANS Forth (with a space).  When did you look?  It
_was_
empty, but as of when I posted my message it has these four files.
I just saw them!  Do you need to flush a cache or something?

Cheers,
Elizabeth

Yep, flushing did it.  It was empty when I looked at for the first
time two days ago...

Thanks!

I also have copies of XCcomments.001.PDF and XCpaper.pdf, if
you've lost those.

AFAIK all the issues addressed in those documents have been addressed one
way or another in the drafts.  I do have these files, and will be happy to
re-post
them if you think they're still relevant (it's been a long time since I read
them...)

Elizabeth

I don't feel strongly about this.  The other documents seem
complete and clear.  XCpaper.pdf does present an overview.
