[$$] Report Accounts (RA) class library for accounting arithmetic

CEC Services is producing a class library for accounting arithmetic of
reusable software components named Report Accounts (RA).

The methodology used is Business Object Notation (BON).

The implementation language used is Eiffel.

The model for double entry bookkeeping is the government's Standard
General Ledger (SGL), a transaction driven system.

The model for triple entry bookkeeping is Momentum Accounting, for
which CEC Services has obtained written permission from the American
Accounting Association to implement.

RA is to be reused in a class library for money markets, the
documentation of which is to be produced as textbooks by a large New
York publishing house.

The scale of the object database designed for RA supports over 4
billion users.  Each user may have over 1,000 unique central
processing units and over 16,000 accounts.  The database is designed
for a 192-year life cycle with the time resolution for concurrent
transactions to the nearest 100-billionth of a second.  The size of a
transaction amount is over 4 quadrillion with 16-decimal places.

The performance of the persistent object database for RA is below.
One transaction consists of on average 4 updates, made up of: 9 reads
of 3 tables in memory, 4 reads of 4 tables on disk, and 10 writes to 6
tables on disk.  The database makes use of bit-driven system logic at
about 1,900 transactions per minute on one 586-133 with 32 MB RAM and
one IDE disk under Windows NT.  Indexing uses the Binary Sort Access
Method (BSAM), patent pending.  Each table row supports a checksum of
CRC or hash and patented non inversive encryption.

The target installation of the RA object database is high definition
television (HDTV) where very fast accounting arithmetic for enormous
numbers of accounts is required.

The RA database is also designed to make use of recent advances in
computer technology, such as concurrency support of Eiffel and
multiple processors.

The target sectors for RA are banking, insurance, and Wall Street.

CEC Services is now finishing the design phase after about eight
months of recycling OOA and OOD.  Implementation, the shortest phase
due to the seamless and reversible BON method, is soon to begin.

The finished library should be available for licensing by about 96Q3
in two forms:  short flat-form and full source.  Pricing has not been
set, but should be under $25,000 and $50,000 respectively.
