Ken Sutcliff #2 / 4	CANON 4000 laser printer this should not be a problem - If you are under NT workstation or server - at DOS type "net use lpt1: \\YourServer\PrinterShareName" /persitant if 95 or 98 just add a new printer as usual and check the box allow DOS apps and make sure you map a port... Phil McGuinnes #3 / 4	CANON 4000 laser printer It turns out it is a HP4000 and has a Parellel port, a NE2000 connection and IP connection. I cannot give it a \\host\printer type connection as the printer is addressed as 192.123.22.10Hpprinter.. Weird eh! i had a read of the Doc ans told the use thaey will have to connect the parellel port i think... Ken Sutcliff #4 / 4	CANON 4000 laser printer Even if it has an IP address it is still a share attached to a server. The IP address is the address of it only. NT boxes attach by hooking to the IP address - but at the DOS level you still use "net use etc...." this is general LAN Man syntax...
