Eugene,

Below is an extract of some code that does what you want.

Owen Brunker

DatabaseOptions                EQUATE(500)

  CODE

CreateDatabaseOptions           ROUTINE
  LOOP X# = 1 TO RECORDS(INIDatabaseEntries)
    GET(INIDatabaseEntries, X#)

    CREATE((?DatabaseOptions + X# -1), CREATE:Item, ?Databases)        !
?Databases is to be the parent menu

    (?DatabaseOptions + X# -1){PROP:Text} =
CLIP(INIDatabaseEntries:DBQ:Description)

! Give the menu item a description
    (?DatabaseOptions + X# -1){PROP:Hide} = False

! If we don't unhide it, the user can't use it

  END
