 MAPImessages msgSent Property always returns FALSE

Using the Microsoft MAPI Controls v6.0 in VB6 SP3 (Enterprise), the
MAPIMessage control's msgSent property always returns FALSE, thereby
eliminating a reliable way to inform the user if the email has been sent
successfully.
I've read that this property gets updated by the server, I've never seen it
return TRUE (even on mails I send to myself and watch them hit my InBox)

Anybody else see this?
