Internet Transfer Control and ASCII FTP

I use the Microsoft Internet Transfer Control that comes with VB5 for
FTP sessions. Problem is I can't find how to transfer files using ASCII
mode. When I use INet1.Execute , "put file" it is transfered as a binary
file, although it is an ASCII file. Since it has to be transfered to a
Unisys mainframe (EBCDIC) I need the ASCII option.

Anybody have a solution?

Thanx in advance,

INet1.Execute , "type a"              'Set I/O to Ascii
INet1.Execute , "put file"            'Send the file.

Not positive if this works or not. But give it a try.
also.   INet1.Execute , "type i"      'set as binary.

Willem,

Catalyst offers an FTP control as part of our SocketTools suite. It will
translate your EBCDIC file to ASCII and vice versa if the need arises. The
FTP control is well-documented and easy to use. We also have samples on how
to use the various controls included with the evaluation software. It can be
downloaded at our web site (www.catalyst.com).
