VB5 Shortcut Menu toolbar keeps disappearing

Hi everyone

You can take a break from the brainy stuff, its me back with
another simple question from the bottom of the VB5 learning curve.

If I select View | Toolbars | Customise, I am presented with the
"Customise" dialog box. It has 3 tabs, "Toolbars", "Commands" and
"Options".

I select Toolbars. There is a list of potential toolbars I can have
visible in my IDE. I like the sound of "Shortcut Menus", so I check
the box. A handy toolbar appears. I drag it up towards the menu bar
and dock it. It looks useful. I am so proud of my work.

But ... when I exit the Customise box, via "Close" or "X", my
Shortcut Menu toolbar disappears.

Why ? what am I doing wrong and how can I prevent this ?

        cheers - Griff

Griff,

This seems to be just a quick way for you to get at commands you want to add
to exisating toolbars (or a new custom one).  You can drag/drop stuff from
the far end of those menus (eg "Forms | Forms | Menu Editor", but not "Forms
| Forms") onto a different toolbar.  The stuff you've dragged over will stay
there after you exit toolbar editor.

Ian

  - thanks very much for that info. Now that I've got it figured out,
I've found it very useful. For example I have added the "View Code"
and "View Object" buttons, as I was previously used to using their
equivalents in the Delphi IDE.
