 Informix & Visual Basic

I am interested in accessing a backend database serve with Informix.
I'd like to do some timings that compares access speed with and without
ODBC. This will be through a VB front-end !

Do I need special Informix drivers to do this ?

Thank-you !

Yes, Informix like all backends requires that you
purchase an ODBC driver that is a match.

On another note, when you finally get the
driver running, you may be much better off
to use Informix stored procedures if at all possible.

At the very least, use SQLPASSTHROUGH.
The Informix engine is very quick and easy to
work with.  The 4GL product is actually a
descendant of Darthmoth Basic, just as is
VB.
