Problem with Graph Custom Control GRAPH.VBX

We have created several VB apps using version 3 that use the Graph Custom
Control. This requires the support file GRAPH.VBX to be present in the
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. On most machines there is no problem. However
on a newer PC running Win95 4.00.950B, the message "Can't load Custom
Control DLL 'c:\windows\system\graph.vbx' " appears. The file is in the
correct place and the same file installed in the same directory causes no
problems on older PCs running Win95 4.00.950

I assume there is some incompatibility between this VBX and this particular
release of Windows. Am I right ? If I am, where can I get an updated version
of this file ?

I think you are correct and I also think that you can't get an updated
version of the file.  VB3 is ancient.  Win16 isn't really supported by
Microsoft (or anyone) anymore.  I do know that here on my VB6 CD, there is
an updated Graph control that will work, but it won't work for you because
it is a 32 bit program.

Anyway, if there is such a thing, why don't you seach the Microsoft
knowledge base for it?

Problem with Graph Custom Control GRAPH.VBX
I have used the 16bit version of graph.vbx without files gsw.exe or gswdll.dll
being on the
system!

I think your problem is graph.vbx might need licenses!  Some controls need a
license for
developers, and some need one for runtime use!

The system that sais it needs the file (yet it is there), probably needs a
runtime license for
graph.vbx.

Problem with Graph Custom Control GRAPH.VBX
I don't think so..
What version is it?
Take an editor and look at the end of the file.

See my fileversion;
it's the original VB30 installed version.
We distributed thousands of disks with Graph.VBX (with GSW.EXE and
GSWDLL.DLL)
No licence file required.
Of course when using VB itself, this might been set in VB.INI

Good luck,

Problem with Graph Custom Control GRAPH.VBX
There is no run-time license required for graph.vbx, and you _do_ need
gsw.exe  & gswdll.dll . I have used graph.vbx with Win95b without any
problems. One potential problem is that there are a number of versions of
these files, which are not all compatible.
