Over the past year, I have been writing a retail program that deals with
stock handling,invoice processing etc. At the present the user types the
order codes in by hand into a grid

Ideally, i would like to start looking at integrating hand held scanners
into my
app. I am currently using dao in vb6 but may move it to ADO soon

What I am trying to establish is how vb reads information from barcode
scanners. Do you use the comm32 control and each time an item is scanned an
event is fired and the data passed.

Altermativly does anyoine know of any ocx's that provide a link between an
application and a scanner

I would be very grateful if anyone has any information about this or web
links with more details

I've been looking at a range of scanners but I'm still trying to estabish
which are best for tight intergration with vb
