This may or may not help us with regard to protecting our apps...
It shows what the crackers generally search for, such as MsgBoxs
and string comparisons.

Use this to patch w32dasm 8.93 so you can see the sdr's. Then just use
smartcheck, w32dasm and softice. I dont even bother with smartcheck
anymore and just use softice. Break on things like __vbastrcmp,
rtcmsgbox, __vbastri4, etc. Usually the regular softice breakpoints
are good enough such as hmemcpy, etc.

Also, I wouldnt really say most are hardcoded anymore than non-vb
apps. ;)

the way i see it, the harder you make your app to crack the more incentive
you give them.

I know you have -- I was just re-stressing the topic with some actual
"lingo" from actual crackers.  No need to get upset about it.  I also
told you before to chill out.  :)

It is easier to use SmartCheck to crack a VB program. I think it is very
difficult to protect the software written in VB.

Yeah, I've been reading a lot about SmartCheck -- apparently it's very
good for "debugging" VB apps.  :(
