 Printer font transparent property problems

I have encountered problems printing to an HP printer from vb4.  Problems
with font properties appear commonly on newsgroups, solution:
1 set printer's font properties except name
2 set printer's font name
3 repeat 1
However, such a solution does not appear to work for the fonttransparent
property of the printer.  The same code that allows overlapping text and
graphics on a form does not work when the destination is changed from form
to printer.  Is this a problem to do with vb, my printer (I've tried
several different types) or my coding.
I would very much appreciate any help.
Thanks, Tom
