Error opening Database under Win NT 4.0 and some Win 95

I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem...(and of course
if there is a solution)

I created a program which accesses an Access database off of a CD-ROM.
I used VB 4.0 16 bit, and it runs fine off of Win 3.1, most win 95
machines, but it doesn't seem to
run under Win NT 4.0 at all.

I have traced the error to the OpenDatabase command, it is throwing up
error 3051 which means
unable to find database.

Also, I can map to a network drive, throw the .mdb file up there, and if I
delete the .ldb file all is
well.

Unfortunately, the CD already shipped and I would like to provide a program
only fix. Can I work
around this problem(?) with code.

And why would it work on some systems and not others.
By the way, it won't even work on a NT 4.0 system with a full install of VB
4.0 on it...

Any help is greatly appreciated....
