 HELP: Overriding Control Event handler(s)

In Delphi, if one wanted to write their own event handler, they could put
"override" in the procedure header.  If they wanted to then go ahead and use
the control's event handler AFTER doing their own stuff, they could put the
command "Inherited" as the last command of the routine.

Is there any comparable way in VB5 for a programmer to do what THEY want
with an event, and still have the option of having the control's handler run
after that?

Any and all help appreciated!
