Bring on the DB

 Bring on the DB

I have Visual Studio 6.0 and I'm just coming off the beginning stages of VB
and InterDev & feeling fairly comfortable.  I want to venture now into
database apps.  How does Visual Fox Pro (I haven't used it yet) work into my
plans? Can I use it like a SQL server locally on my machine? Any suggestions
how I should set this up?

Thanx a mucho

 Bring on the DB
Hello,
Visual Fox Pro is a good Database program. Everything is very fast. The
only problam is that If you want to get the power of VFP, all the apps have
to be written if VFP. This is not a bad thing, just a fact. SQL Server can
be used locally if you are using Windows NT. Windows 95/98 requires the
Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE). This is an SQL Server 7.0 implementation for
Windows 95/98 that can be run from your desktop.

Good Luck
