VBA for Excel; Getting ranges from AutoFilter

I am using the autofilter to select items from a list .
If I plot all items, the chart will show filtered items, but only as long as
the filter is active.
I would like to apply another filter and plot both results as different
series in one chart.

I know I can copy the filtered items and plot them from their new locations,
but for
many series this can get very messy.

I thought I should be able to get several (multi-area) ranges from a filter,
but I don't know
how.

Please advise!
