Hi folks,

We are getting error 50003 "Unexpected error" when we start a VB 5.0
Professional EXE.

I have checked the MS Knowledge Base - it comes up with one hit about GIF
files - this is not the problem.

Are we missing files? - we are pretty confident that we have them all as a
previous version works which uses the same Components and References.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Runtime error 50003 (undocumented) is known to occur when different version
of DLLs or OCXs are installed with the same name. Check your computer with
File Found.

Or possibly installed the VB5 run-time kit latest version, available at:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q180/0/71.asp

A recent post on this NG gave this as a possible cure.

Apparently is has something to do with displaying gif's. I think that the
screen settings (colors, resolution, etc.) on the running computer has
something to do with it.
