Does anyone have/use this book?

"The Indispensable PC Hardware Book", 2nd Ed, Hans-Peter
Messmer?  I'm looking for a good book about programming
Windows related hardware, such as Soundcards, interrupts, etc.
This looks like it covers some of the info I want, but...The
bookstore has to order it meaning I have to buy it unseen (and
of course the library doesn't have it).

I've also found a reference that sez the CDK comes with
VB/Pro, and can be purchased separately, but I can't find
anyone who can get it. Does anyone know more? I'd like to
write VBX's and device drivers.
