Repost Of Entire Project Files for HELP NEEDED, stunned........ - ball3.zip (0/4)

I have a professor who required us to buy this book "Teach Yourself
Visual Basic In 21 Days" by Gurewich, and work the problems in it
during class.  I am wanting to learn the coding so bad, but the book
doesn't seem to teach me very well.  I think a book defining the
various codes and the instructions that can be included with them
would be the best approach for me.  This program "Ball3.vbp" (Newb.vbp
= old name) is a basketball game requiring these items within the
project:

Randomization of basketball shot to the goal so every

                     shot is not made.
Score 2 points accumlative every shot that makes it in

the goal. (Of course, no 2 points if shot doesn't go in goal)
A Spin is required on the ball  (Incorporating more
              than one basketball image).
No Visibility of ball when it actually goes through

              the goal.

Sound File when goal is made and points are scored.

If you could help me I would be very grateful!  Seems like I am making
this harder than it actually is, but I am all new to Visual Basic.
This program was written in Visual Basic 4.0 .

If anyone has any suggestions on good books for starting in Visual
Basic 4.0, please let me know.

Thanks so much for your help.

I've bought these all at Stacey's, which is similar to Crown books
or Waldens.  I've listed them in order from simple (for the
newbie/novice) to advanced (for the power user):

1) PC Leearning Labs Teaches Microsoft Visual Basic 4.0
        Ziff Davis Press
(Excellent Newbie-First Timer book, where you build a simple
text
Editor)
2) Essential Visual Basic 4
SAMS Publishing (Mark Steven Heyman, author will even do email
with you if you have question about his book.  Another
excellent       book with several really cool projects that you build,
like
a       graphics viewer!)
3) Visual Basic 4 How-To: The Definitive Visual Basic 4 Problem-Solver
Waite Group Press (Zane Thomas, Karl Peterson, et al)
4) Visual Basic: Power TOOLkit: Cutting Edge Tools and Techniques for
   Programmers
Ventana Press (Richard Mansfield, Evangelos Petroutsos)
5) Hacker's Guide to Visual Basic
Addison Wesley Developers Press (Vincent Chen, John Montgomery)
(This isn't "hacker" in the break-AOL sense, but in
understanding        VB
coding)
6) Graphics Programming with Visual Basic
        SAMS Publishing (Robert W. Stewart)
(For those of us who ultimately want to program cool graphics
type
programs in VB)
7) The Visual Guide to Visual Basic 4.0 for Windows
        Ventana Press (Richard Mansfield)
8) Microsoft Visual Basic Programmer's Guide
(The one that comes with VB4 when you buy it!  It's hard to
understand at first, but it's an excellent reference anyways)

Feel free to add/insert to this list your suggestions.

Dennis, it is considered, at best, _most impolite_ to post
binaries to discussion newsgroups.  comp.lang.basic.visual.misc
is a discussion newsgroup.  You should post a brief description
of your problem and ask if there's anyone who would take a look
at it, then send the file as an attachment to private e-mail,
only to people who offer to look at it.

Whatever might be the best approach for you, posting a large
binary file to this newsgroup is a decidedly _poor_ one for
your standing in the VB Internet community.
