 ODBC error after upgrading to Microsoft SQL server 6.5

I am having an ODBC error (S1000 Protocol error in TDS stream) after
upgrading my Microsoft SQL server from version 6.0 to 6.5.  The error
occurs whenever I run a stored procedure that tries to retrieve text
data.  The ODBC I installed is version 2.65.0201.

I would be very thankful if any kind soul can help me solve this
problem.  Thank you in advance
