How do I know if I have VB 4.0a?

How do I know if I have VB 4.0a?

I recently purchased the VB 4.0a patch from Microsoft, but, after
installing it, the version number in the "Help" menu has not changed -
it still reads "4.0".  The only thing that seems to have changed are
the file dates - they now read 01-12-96.

Do I have version 4.0a or did Microsoft just send me version 4.0 with
some new dates?

Please let me know if you have any wisdom that may help me.

Thanks.

That is the only way to tell the difference........... (I guess they
were too embarrasses/lazy/arrogant to change the version number.)

You have  4.0a. If you check the file sizes you will see that they
have changed also.
