 Internet Browser Control & Images

I am in the middle of making one of the biggest programs I have done so far
and have ran into a problem that perhaps someone can help me fix.

In this program I connect to a users computer and view a web page by
downloading it to my computer and displaying it in the webbrowser control. I
have a problem though when displaying images because they arn't downloaded
with the page.

I basically want to find a list of all the pictures used in someones web
pages.

eg this HTML...

<BODY>
<IMG SRC="images\test.gif">
</BODY>

I would get a value of \images\test.gif so I could then download only the
required files from the users computer and ultimitly display the web page.

Any help would be geatly appreciated.

Steven.

The easiest way would be to have the users computer running PWS (Personal
Web Server)
and retrieve the page by url in the webbrowser control.  PWS is on the
Windows 98 CD and
can be download from microsoft for 95.

One of the programs main uses would be to become a sort of temporary web
server and I cant guarentee that all the users have PWS on their systems.

Also does anyone know a way to, in the web browser or similar control, to
tell if a link has been clicked and if so find where the link goes so to
intercept it?

And one more thing that would come in handy is a peice of code that given a
certain directory loops through all the subdirectories and displays all the
files with certain extension.  ie.   *.txt and *.exe

Thanks.

Steven.

Check out the BeforeNavigate2 event, specifically the URL parameter.  If you
want to prevent the user from going to that url you need to set Cancel to
true inside that event somewhere.

i dont feel like implementing the code right now but basically you'll need
to implent the following pseudo code.

sub findFiles(curDir as string, fileList as whatever)
    add all *.txt and *.exe files in this dir to fileList
    for each subDirectory in curDir
        findFiles subDirectory, fileList
    next
end sub

call this function with curDir set to the lowest dir you want searched.  use
the Dir() function to locate all the *.txt and *.exe and directories in the
current directory.  and fileList should be whatever type you feel like using
as your list, maybe a collection, maybe a string, idk, its up to you.
