 Drag and Drop Icons

I'm not completely happy with the MSDN drag and drop icons and have
been looking around for some better ones.  Despite digging through web
page after web page, I'm not finding what I'm looking for.

I like the drag'n'drop icons used in Lotus Smartsuite.  When you hover
the mouse over the object to be grabbed it looks like an open hand
reaching in, then when you click to drag it looks like that same hand
grabbed the object.  Here's a screenshot:

If anyone knows where I can get similar freely usable icons, if you
would please let me know, I would appreciate it.  Yes, I'll write to
Lotus Corp for permission, but they haven't been as responsive as I
would like in the past.

There are a lot of icon editors out there. Some are free, some not but
generally cheap as chips. You can spend a half an hour and make up
your own icons with those. I even remember seeing some online icon
editors.. but not sure how good they are, or if free.

I expect that the Lotus Corp (AKA IBM) nicked the icons in the first
place.

Personally I would just cut out the ones you want, personalize them
(for taste - not copyright) and use them

You have to remember that the original Lotus was a blatant rip-off of
Visicalc - by a guy who used to be employed by Visicorp

Lotus only started trying to sue people after they bought Visicorp

What is sauce for the goose is ...

Also 'passing off' is pretending to be someone you are not
- copyrighting a little icon is not exactly ... well that practical

Why not just take them without asking. The Lotus people will understand
that. They specialise in it ;-)
