Totally agree! I've seen similar but entry-level positions advertised at $70k.
BTW: Do not send me a job offer. YOU CAN'T AFFORD ME! Quote:

You'll never get anyone with those skills for that kind of money. I just got a job for a lot more than that knowing VB, Access, and SQL only. Up the pay! Cheers, John

First off, this is not a jobs newsgroup. Secondly, $35-$45K for 5+ years dev experience? Get off the pipe! You'll need to pay $60K-$80K to get that kind of experience. Good Luck. Quote:

Well, by this time it is pretty clear that a couple of things are apparent. 1) You will most likely find it quite difficult to bring someone on board with the skills you require for the compensation you offer. 2) You probably shouldn't have included the compensation level if you wanted any nibbles! If you do some additional research, you will also find that in many companies the person with the skills you require is not only making twice what you offer, but probably has 1-3 entry level programmers reporting to him/her making what you are offering, and 1-2 junior-level programmers making half again as much as you are offering. At any rate, good luck in your (most likely extremely long and fruitless) search. Quote:
