I've also had a lot of trouble with these two controls as a result of
VB5CCE.  After a lot of screwing around, I still get the "object
server not registered" error (checked for the invalid registry entry,
etc).  In fact, regclean won't even run now, it goes down with a
runtime 429 error - OLE automation server can't createobject -- what's
up with that?

I'm wondering (for anyone who has resolved this issue) what versions
of the above controls you have installed/registered as well as the
appropriate .dll's that go with them.  My versions:

COMCTL32.OCX    5.00.3422 (from VB5?)
COMCTL32.DLL            4.70
COMDLG32.OCX    1.0.2415
COMDLG32.DLL    4.00.951

These are the only versions remaining on my system. Any thoughts????

Of course, if there is a sure-fire fix to this mess, I'd love to hear
it.
