A friend of mine wanted me to post this problem - to which he
needs a solution rather urgently.

The basic question is : how can one share a directory by calling
the File Manager from Visual Basic (or any other way) ?

A more complete description of what they're trying to accomplish :

They have about 1000 computers all over the country (Belgium), and
on each of them, they want to share a certain directory, so that
local users can consult it. They don't want to (and can't) use th
"share as" menu option in the File Mgr, but would rather do it in
an automated way, preferably using some File mgr API-calls from
within a VB program.

There's a function (WNetAddShare) that does exactly what they'd
like, but it's difficult to use in VB : as it uses pointers,
they'd have to write an interface DLL themselves.

Has somebody had the same problem, who's willing to give some
advice ? or does some 3rd party soft exist which can help them ?
