VB Voice Mail using MS Mail

Has anyone tried or succeeded in writing a VB program that sends voice
mail via MS Mail.

I am trying to write a program for my chairman who finds MS Mail
difficult to use! I know he only needs to insert a sound object and
send it but it is ptoving too complicated.

We all have sound cards and I have written a version which works but I
am not very happy with it Basically, you record your message and send
it as an attached file called voice.wav. All this is automated.

Is there a more efficient way of doing this as currently, when the
mail arrives, you see a tape cassette and double clicking produces the
soundrec or mplayer (whichever your association is) and then you have
to press the play button.

What I want to be able to achieve is the similar to an attached word
document that when you double click, the document is displayed. In my
case I want the voice file to play immediately without the necessity
to press the play button because knowing my chairman, he will press
the record button instead!

Any bright sparks out there?

Thanks

Sometimes it's not what you do, its where you look...

Have you thought about changing the association?

I use WPLANY which will play an associated file without user intervention
other than the initial double click.  It seems to be a pretty standard
net.tool, as more than a few people use it to play .au files via their
web browsers.

I don't remember where I got it, but I would imagine the usual archives
(SimTel or cica) would have it.

Hope this helps...

Jeff
