Sure, An enhanced version of Windows explorer implimented purely with the
Win32 API.
Should be able to knock it off in a month or two ;-) No seriously.  How
about a general fileviewer
with MRUDs  -most recently used directories- (stashed in the Registry),
multiple panel splitters
with detachable floating windows and a linked listview/treeview which allows
you to instantly view
specific filetypes and/or ShellExecute registered ones.  When you have the
basics done link it up
to the web and throw in a MAPI control to allow you to send selected files
to people in your
addressbook.  Hmmm, that should get you at least a B+

implement a DES encryption using matrices
use grid.vbx to display intermediate operation results

create a navigation calculator to mess around with latitude and longitude.
make it able to calculate distances and directions from one point on earth
to another.
use graphics to display crude maps and locations/lines between points

create a 4 dimensional tic tac toe game !!  make it interactive with three
players using com ports as links between all the players.

want you to get an "A"  !!!!!!!    & keep us posted on this newsgroup

Ho ho ho - in that case, if you're going for irony, try a time management
program.
