 VB3.0 & Access 2.0 (Field Properties)

Can anyone tell me how I can use the field properties (eg. Caption, Validation
Rule, Format) I've specified in Access2.0 tables in my VB3.0 application?

I have installed the compatibility layer, but VB still seems to have very
limited field properties (eg. data type and length).
