 VB 3.0, Access 2.0, and Windows 95 OSRV2 Problems

I have a Visual Basic application I created years ago in VB 3.0, using
Access 2.0 for the database.  It has worked fine for years.  I recently
upgraded by Windows 95 to the OSRV2 release (Win 95 B) and the
application has stopped working.  Every time I try to access the
database I get an error that says, "Invalid Database type".  The context
sensitive help says to try compacting the database and trying again.
This does not help.

I moved to application back to a machine with an older copy of Windows
95 and it works flawlessly.  Does anyone have any idea what has changed
in Win 95 B?  Is there a known work around?

I appreciate any thoughts anyone may have.

 VB 3.0, Access 2.0, and Windows 95 OSRV2 Problems

You can try installing the Microsoft Access version 2.0 Service Pack,
which replaces existing files in your current Microsoft Access version
2.0 installation. The Service Pack includes the following updated files:
    - The Microsoft Jet database engine (version 2.5).
    - The OLE dynamic-link libraries (version 2.02).
    - Btrieve, Paradox, and xBASE installable ISAM drivers.

You should be able to download it from Microsoft's site.

Hope this helps.

VB 3.0 has a compatibility problem with Access v2.0 (only supports 1.0
and 1.1)

There is a compatibility layer program available to upgrade the Jet
database engine which should resolve the above problem - the filename
is COMLYR.EXE and you should be able to pick it up from download.com
or some other such site - if you have a problem finding this file,
drop me a line and I will e-mail it to you.

I have no trouble accessing the Access 2.0 database on an older version of Win
95.  But, I tried the comlyr.exe and I've tried Access 95.  So far it does not
make a difference.  I the error message I get when using Access 95 is :

"c:\density\density.mdb is a corrupted or not a Microsoft Access database"

Thanks for the suggestion, though.
