access SQL database through netscape browser in NT

Hi, how to write a CGI program to access SQL database in NT ?

        netscape ->  WWW   ->   CGI   ->   ODBC    ->   SQL
        browser  <- server <- program <- inferface <- database
                    in NT

I have succeeded with writen a C program to access SQL database
in NT. But when I port it to a CGI program, it become fail to
connect SQL database!! How should I do for this?

Another thing, is there any package or shareware which can do
the same thing as I say above? I know one of them is COLD FUSION,
and it return the result of query to the netscape browser directly.
But I want to deal with the result of query , and then sent them
        to netscape browser.

Any response is welcome !! Thanks a lot!!

Check out a freeware package that I've assembled. It is Windows NT based, and
requires the following:

Perl 5 (there are links to this in the README.HTM)
EMWAC's http server version .097 or above (there are links to this in the
README.HTM)
Lee Fe{*filter*}an's IODBC (this is included)
Windows NT (possibly will work on 95)

It's located on:
ftp://ftp.digex.net/pub/access/psii/iodbc.zip

Hope this helps,

On a related matter...

The NT implementaion of Perl 5 from hip communications (ftp://ntperl.hip.com/)
is supposed to have OLE Automation capabilities built-in, although I have not
been able to figure out how connect to a MS SQL Server 6.0 from Perl scripts.
I would appreciate any help or comments!

Towers,
Check this out:  http://www.w3spider.com (Spider Technologies).

We are going to download the trial today, and try to connect Sybase
SQL server and Netscape Commerce server on an HP-UX.

This product was recommended to us by Sybase.

I will post whatever findings I think might be of interest.

The name Mark West and SSI seem to ring a bell -  are you by any
chance plugging your product to the unsuspecting public ;)

hi

on unix machines (at least on ours) the cgi program executed by the
www server belongs to the user 'nobody'. If this is the same on NT,
check out if 'nobody' is allowed to use the base...

Try this:

Go into your control panel, open the ODBC Data source app,
make sure that your SQL app is listed there, select System DSN,
create a new data source relating to your back end and give it
a name, then call it by that name from your code.

Hope this helps

SQL database in NT ?>>>>        netscape ->  WWW   ->   CGI   ->   ODBC    ->   SQL>>        browser  <- server <- program <- inferf=
ace <- database>>                    in NT

This approach is used by VISIGATE. You can test it via:
http://203.13.55.80/lookfor/default.htm

The CGI functions are split to C++ and VB.
Access to ODBC databases is via VB.
