Using Crystal reports with Access 2.5 JET Engine

Using Crystal reports with Access 2.5 JET Engine

I have been having problems losing data from an Access 2.0 database
and on the advice of a friend obtained the JET 2.5 Engine hoping
(although Microsoft will deny any bug fixes, the product didn't have
bugs to begin with) that it will solve the problem. Now I have found
that Crystal Reports (CRW Pro 4.0) can't open the databases. How do
I get around this ?

You can't at the moment.  JET 2.5 is incompatible with CRW 4.0.  This
usually appears as GPFs in MSAJT200.dll.

I found out that CRW 4.0 did not work with JET 2.5. I called crystal
and they FEDEXed me CRW 4.0.3 and it is working fine for me!
They claimed that .3 is a major release that has lots of bugs fixed.

I've read somewhere that JET 2.5 and CRW don't work very well together. I
can't remember where I read this... but I have problems with CRW 3.0 and
JET 2.5 (At least I can open an ACCESS database, but I sometimes get
GPF's)

Normaly any Access/CRW errors are due to incorrect dlls.  4.0.x.x has a
readme.hlp file that will help you get the two happy with each other.

Access 2.0 works great with Crystal 4.x.x.x  If you run into any problems
with the Access 2.5 then the question I would ask is...  What changed?
