 Bound Controls

I have a data control on a form, and many associated combo boxes & text
boxes, bound to the data control.  The data control seems to work well,
but I cannot update the records without physically using the data
control.

I am trying to keep the data control hidden and allow the users to enter
data.  When the user clicks on the return button, I need to save the data
entered.  For whatever reason, the data control will not allow me to do
anything to it.  I cannot movenext, movefirst, update, or any other
action on the data control.  Everything returns the error: The action was
cancelled by an associated object.

The only way to get past this error is to unload the form that contains
the data control, but this loses all data that the user just entered.
Any idea how to do this without physically placing the data control where
the user needs to click on it?

Thanks.

In the OnClick for an 'OK' button I use the following code to update the
record.

        datSubsystems_Validate vbDataActionUpdate, True
        datSubsystems.UpdateRecord
