I am trying to use the VB6 Data Environment for Oracle to connect to
an Oracle 8i demo dtababse. At the seond screen of the DE Connection
properties (where one sets the server name and username/password), the
connection test just hangs. Later VB shows up as "Not Responding".

Incidentally a normal SQL*Plus connection is possible which I presume
implies my Net8 setup is OK.

Is there anything I am missing? How does the OLE DB Provider for
Oracle work- on SQL*Net/Net8 ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
