 dbase and XP

After I havd upgraded to XP my vb code that accessed dbase files does not
work.  I get
error -2147217900 (80040e14) syntax error in from clause

with a little tinkering I also get this

error -2147217865 (80040e37)  can't find object  dbase file name

I open it like this

strSQL = "SELECT * FROM * & strfilename

db.open "Provider=MSDASQL.1;Persist Security Info=False;" & _
            "Extended Properties=CollatingSequence=ASCII;" & _
            "DefaultDir=C:\Program Files\Common Files\ODBC\Data Sources;" &
_
            "Deleted=1;Driver={Microsoft dBase Driver (*.dbf)};" & _
            "DriverId=533;FIL=dBase 5.0;ImplicitCommitSync=Yes;" & _
            "MaxBufferSize=512;MaxScanRows=8;PageTimeout=600;" & _
            "SafeTransactions=0;Statistics=0;Threads=3;" & _
            "UID=admin;UserCommitSync=Yes;"

adoRS.CursorType = adoOpenDynamic

Set adoRS   =  db.Execute(strSQL)
