SQL Server JOINed recordsets not updatable?

 SQL Server JOINed recordsets not updatable?

I have made an application with VB4 and an Access database. I have
made extensive use of TrueDbGrid, which I connect to the database
using the Data Control.

Others are now upsizing my application to use SQL Server. They have
changed the Data Controls to Remote Data Controls. To my surprise,
they tell me that it is difficult to get the TrueDbGrids working
properly, because recordsets created by JOINs are not updatable in SQL
Server. Is this really the case?? know next to nothing about SQL
Server myself, but this seems to me to be a very major limitation!
