here is my deal, I created a database in access 95 but now I need it in
access 97.  I tried to convert it using the database utilities but i
keep getting an automation error.  What is causing this??????

I don't think you have to convert it.
Just open your database in Access97 en Access will do the rest
automatically.
If you still receive the automation error, then this means perhaps
that a library or server is not correctly installed or registered.
Then you will have to do a reinstall of Access97.

The best way I have found to do this is to create the new database in 97 and
IMPORT the data from the old DB.
