Salary of a good programmer in NY.

Can somebody give me a salary range for a programmer with 2-3 yr exp in
Visual Basic or C++ with database/SQL in NY area?
The programmer will be writing applications in databse and communications.
Thanks.

I can quote the latest VBPJ for you:  the average salary of a
developer in the mid-Atlantic states is $75K per year - that's average
mind you.  For a programmer with 1-2 years of experience the
nation-wide average is $44,848 per year, but the mid-Atlantic states
apparently pay higher than any other region.  Confused enough?  You
may want to get a copy of the magazine - that's the March issue of the
Visual Basic Programmer's Journal.

Thanks for your input.
If I'm interested in programmers with specific skills, where do I find them?
For example: 2-3 years Exp in VB or C++ with SQL, work on real-time
applications with NASDAQ.
Is there a special forum for programmer involved in real-time application
development in financial industry?
Since I'm from NY, do I advertise in NY Times?
