 Memo field dbase III tables maximum 5000 bytes (problem VB4)

When trying to write data to a memo field (dBase II type table) the
maximum length is about 5000 bytes. (noting to do with AddChunk method)

Under VB3.0 the solution was:
create a dBase III type table.
close database.
Open database and table as dBase IV type.
Now there is no limit to the length of a memo field.

Unfortunately this trick doesn't work under VB4.0 anymore;
Only real dBase IV type tables accept long memo fields.

I really need dBase III type tables; the application that uses them
doesn't accept anything else ( written in Clipper 5.2d and Hipersix )

Thank you.
